New european methods to support innovation
Innovation can be encouraged from the outset, in the constitution of public contracts. Eurovia argues for a relaxation of calls for tenders to allow alternatives - often more innovative responses reward the initiatives of the respondents.
Allowing flexibility in the solutions being proposed would allow new processes to emerge, and encourage the cooperation of different players in a project.
Cooperation and innovation are already at work – Eurovia participates in the Franco-German approach led by professor Zander from BAST (Federal Highway Research Institute in Germany), which aims to facilitate the establishment of a method of designing pavement structures at the European level, which could be a joint response element of future public contracts.
