Czech Republic: Votice-Benešov u Prahy rail corridor
On March 15, 2010, a project designed to upgrade the fourth rail corridor at Votice-Benešov u Prahy over an 18-km span was launched. The new rail line will enable trains to travel at speeds up to 160 km per hour and increase traffic capacity. The project also calls for the complete renovation of roadways, platforms, and engineering structures as well as the upgrade of catenary wires and the safety system. Rail stations in the city of Votice and villages of Olbramovice, Bystřice, and Tomice will also be upgraded and an anti-noise barrier built. Work is scheduled to be completed in November 2013.
