France: Eurovia takes part in upgrading the district heating network in Greater Le Mans
These new conduits will be used to supply housing units and other structures with hot water. Thanks to waste combustion as well as water intake from the Huisne, the heater at the waste-to-energy power plant heats water before redistributing it through the district heating network.
On this project, Eurovia Atlantique Le Mans is also carrying out earthworks and civil engineering operations, including drilling, reasphalting, and piping.
This major undertaking is part of the climate and energy plan implemented by the city of Le Mans, whose objective is to raise the share of renewable energy in its energy mix to 80% while supplying hot water to 17,000 housing units by 2020.
The project end date is set for March 30, 2018.
