[6/25/2020] United States: upgrading the runway at Lakeland Linder International Airport
Teams from Hubbard Construction (one of Eurovia’s subsidiaries in the United States) have just completed Phase 2 of a project designed to renovate one of the two runways at Lakeland Linder International Airport in Florida.
The airport, which is located along I-4, the interstate highway that crosses Florida, is also located halfway between Tampa and Orlando. It serves as a relief facility for the Tampa International Airport; as a result, it is authorised to receive international flights.
Works included demolishing the existing runway, reprocessing the surface course in place, installing runway edge-lights, and creating a wearing course 3.2 kilometres long and 76 metres wide in only 96 days.
