France – Redeveloping the forecourt of Metz station

As part of the exclusive lane public transport project for the Metz Métropole urban community, EJL Lorraine has been entrusted with the redevelopment of the forecourt of the railway station in Metz (east of France). The works involve creating the lane for the Mettis (a new bus providing a high level of service) in Bétonpact® (compacted cement concrete) and sandstone paving, as well as creating the adjacent lanes for other traffic, the pavements and the rest of the forecourt on a total surface area of more than 30,000 sq. metres. All the surface materials used will be of natural stone (sandstone, granite, basalt and limestone). The works began in mid-May 2012 and will take 11 months to complete. This contract comes in addition to a first package of external works awarded to EJL Lorraine and Eurovia Florange, as well as the two traffic lights works packages, north and south, for the 91 "junctions with traffic lights", secured by a consortium of VINCI Energies France business units.
