A5 a major worksite in southern Germany
A consortium led by Eurovia is currently upgrading and widening the
A5 motorway between the cities of Malsch and Offenburg located in
southern Germany. The consortium is involved as part of a public-private
partnership contract managed by VINCI Concessions. The target of the
widening scheme is a 41.5-km segment of the 60-km motorway that
connects the two cities; the segment will be converted from a dual
2-lane to a dual 3-lane configuration.

Blythe wins a prize
Blythe Construction was rewarded by its transportation construction industry peers in North America for the quality of its worker safety program. On October 3, as part of its annual convention, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) Foundation along with CNA (a national property and casualty insurance firm) handed out “Contractor Safety Awards” to three companies, among eight finalists, in recognition of their “outstanding worker safety programs.” Blythe Construction was a co-winner in its category and honoured for its “corporate safety culture, operational safety plans, and worker training programs.” With their annual Contractor Safety Awards, the ARTBA and CAN contribute to promoting employee and workplace safety in the transportation construction sector.

An own-site mass transit link from Sénart to Corbeil-Essonnes
Following its launch in September 2009, the project to build an ownsite
public transport connection from Sénart to Corbeil-Essonnes
was completed this past spring. The mandate, which was carried out
by teams from EJL Cannes-Écluse (lead contractor), Eurovia Combsla-
Ville, TP Goulard, STRF, VINCI Terrassement and Eurovia Béton,
called for the development of a dedicated lane nearly 10 kilometres
long for TZen, a bus line providing intensive service between the RER
stations in Lieusaint and Corbeil-Essonnes.

ZAC des Constellations
Since late June and for a period of four months, teams from the Baillargues and Juvignac divisions have been conducting servicing and road-upgrade work in the new ZAC des Constellations urban development zone located in Juvignac within the greater Montpellier urban area. The 35-hectare district will include some 1,300 housing units and 3,200 m2 of commercial space located around the Line 3 terminal of the light-rail transit network. Starting in late 2012, the new urban development zone will welcome about 5,000 residents.

Aeroville commercial centre
As part of a consortium, the Aubervilliers division has begun work on the Aéroville commercial centre, located in Roissy and Tremblay, in proximity to the runways of Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport. The centre is being built on a 10-hectare site and will cover 50,000 m² of total space. The worksite includes 35,000 m3 of fill, soil treatment covering an area of 100,000 m², a 9-km drainage network, diverse networks covering 15 km, and 25,000 tonnes of asphalt paving. Project completion is set for June 2013.
