EJL Lorraine (Eurovia) has in addition been awarded the works
package for external works in
connection with the development
of Place Mazelle in Metz.
The works, extending over
13 months, will notably involve
creating 6,000 sq. metres of
granulated concrete (giving an
appearance much resembling
stone), and laying 7,000 lm of
edging stones and 2,000 lm of
slabs, laid out to form a pattern.

Transport in Metz
In the Moselle department (east
of France), the consortium led by
EJL Lorraine (Eurovia) and
Eurovia’s Florange office has
secured one of the five externalworks
works packages for the
future "high level of service" bus
network that will link the north
and the south of Greater Metz.
The works extend over 5.5 km.
They involve creating the bus
lane and its networks, adjacent traffic lanes, a Park&Ride and
ten stops. Entry into service
of this first line is scheduled
for late 2013.

New developments in Chile
Bitumix, Eurovia’s subsidiary in Chile, will carry out two new projects in northern Chile. As part of the “Rutas de Antofagasta” concession agreement, Bitumix will pour 220,000 tonnes of asphalt on a 45-km linear road segment, while Probisa (another Eurovia subsidiary) will supply 35,000 tonnes of binder.
The second project targets the rehabilitation of a 25-km segment of the Pan-American highway, about 300 km north of Antofagasta.
These two new contracts represent the first projects for the company’s new division in northern Chile.

Slovakia : Opening of the expressway built by Eurovia
The first three segments of the R1 expressway, renamed PR1BINA, built by Granvia Construction (Eurovia CS subsidiary) in Slovakia were inaugurated on October 28, 2011. This project, which covers a 52-km stretch of roadway, represents the first public-private partnership initiative undertaken in this country’s road industry and will be operated by Vinci Concessions for 30 years.
Construction of the first three sections, totalling 46 kilometres, was completed in only 25 months. 78 bridges (requiring 300,000 tonnes of concrete) were built, for a total length of 6,843 metres.

A5 a major worksite in southern Germany
A consortium led by Eurovia is currently upgrading and widening the
A5 motorway between the cities of Malsch and Offenburg located in
southern Germany. The consortium is involved as part of a public-private
partnership contract managed by VINCI Concessions. The target of the
widening scheme is a 41.5-km segment of the 60-km motorway that
connects the two cities; the segment will be converted from a dual
2-lane to a dual 3-lane configuration.
