Eurovia's Amiens division worked with teams from Eurovia Beton, TPR and GTM Terrassement on the Méaulte airport project in the Somme region, which was inaugurated on 7 June. The 2,300 metre long, 45 metre wide runway can now be used by the Airbus A300-600 Beluga super transporter plane that carries the A380 cockpits to Toulouse via Saint-Nazaire. The work included demolition of the existing runway, earthworks and main services, placement of the pavement, runway markings and the installation of runway lights. A total of 260,000 tonnes of materials were brought in, including 160,000 tonnes transported by TFMN, a Eurovia subsidiary specialised in inland waterway transport. Another runway, with a length of 1,000 metres and a width of 80 metres, was also built for the local flying club.
