British Columbia - 80 Street Overpass
The 80 Street Overpass Project is a recently completed multi-jurisdictional Design-Build project with a new grade separation structure over a busy rail line. The overpass is part of the Roberts Bank Rail Corridor upgrade project, designed to improve access to a major port installation in Delta BC, south of Vancouver.
The project involved 1.5 km of municipal road upgrades, retaining wall design using lightweight fills and a 32.8 m long concrete bridge. Project scope included an underpass structure, extensive utility relocations and storm drainage, a single lane roundabout, and design and construction of a signalized intersection to accommodate the temporary closure of 80 Street to construct the overpass.
