new development at rue de Rennes in Paris

The Paris section of the EJL de Vitry-sur-Seine division is currently completing the second phase of a redevelopment project at rue de Rennes in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. This flagship project calls primarily for the widening of pavements, elimination of two traffic lanes between boulevard Raspail and Place du 18 juin 1940 (at the foot of Tour Montparnasse), and redevelopment of intersections along that segment of rue de Rennes. The experience of the teams at the EJL Paris section is enabling them to carry out this project effectively despite extremely constraining conditions, particularly during peak traffic periods in one of the French capital's busiest commercial thoroughfares (including 3,200 pedestrians per hour, 700 vehicles per hour per direction, 4 bus lines, 150 deliveries per day, 2 metro stations). In order to meet the project's tight deadlines, the client agreed to a proposal calling for the preservation of the original concrete structure of the roadway and installation of a system designed to prevent the upward migration of fissures.
