a new project in Montreal
Construction DJL will repair structures on Highway A720, which provides rapid and effective access to downtown Montreal. The highway crosses a strategic sector bounded by the International District, the historic borough of Old Montreal, and the Faubourg Saint-Laurent and Faubourg Québec districts.
Work on Highway A720, also known as the Ville-Marie Expressway, will be carried out for Quebec’s ministry of transportation between the Turcot Interchange and the Ville-Marie Tunnel – a distance of 4 kilometres.
The project, which was launched in January 2013, is a complex mandate due to the great number of previous structural repairs which do not appear on construction plans and to difficult weather conditions, including cold temperatures, strong winds, and snow storms. In winter, 40 people work onsite; this figure will rise to 70 in summer.
The project will be completed in 13 months.
