Development, production and sale of binder
Eurovia's industrial worldwide production encompasses over 50 bitumen binder plants. Total production is 120,000 tonnes of modified bitumen, 20,000 tonnes of fluxed bitumen, and 300,000 tonnes of modified or unmodified bitumen emulsion. This area of activity allows Eurovia to supply its asphalt-production units and provide high-quality binder for all users and all applications.
A new eco-friendly product: a plant-based binder
Our plant-based binder is a major advance in terms of greenhouse gas reduction and energy savings. Sequoia®, created at Eurovia's research and development centre, is a binder consisting of at least 95% renewable non-edible plant materials. Its properties are comparable to those of conventional binders, and it is delivered ready for use to coating plants.
This plant-based binder can be used in numerous light road applications, including decorative paving designed to enhance the safety and aesthetic appeal of infrastructure and the comfort of users. In addition, coatings that use plant-based binders are recyclable.
Canada: road upgrade with Emulvia® products
DJL construction teams have upgraded several sections of highway 2 (for a total of 70 km) which crosses the province of New Brunswick in eastern Canada.
These upgrades were carried out using a cold-mix that extend the useful life of roads by five to seven years. The cold-mix solution is made with an emulsion called Emulvia®, developed by Eurovia.
The three million litres of Emulvia® required on this project were produced entirely at the DJL plant in Carignan, Quebec.
A Eurovia binder plant in the Finistère region
Les Liants Routiers du Finistère is a bitumen binder manufacturing plant serving roadwork industry professionals. The plant, which is located near Quimper, possesses nearly 50 years of experience in the development of bitumen emulsions. The plant manufactures and distributes a complete range of petroleum-based bitumen products.

Our main activity is the production of spreading bitumen (65% or 69%, with dispersion of bitumen in an aqueous phase), but we also produce emulsions for adhesive layers, paving, and bitumen adapted to different client worksites.
We serve public works companies and communities (departments, communes, roadway associations, etc.).
Also, thanks to a local distribution network serving emulsion storage facilities near large urban centres in western France, we provide proximity-related benefits.
